Michael Jackson files allegedly stolen by hackers

LONDON?? A large number of music files of the late "king of pop" Michael Jackson were allegedly stolen from record company Sony Music by computer hackers, sources familiar with the case said on Monday.

Sony Music, a unit of Sony Corps, signed a $250 million deal with Jackson's estate in 2010, the year after the "Thriller" singer's death, to release 10 albums covering previously unreleased material and his back catalogue.

On Friday, two men appeared in a British court accused of offenses connected with the alleged security breach. They were arrested last May and charged in September.

James Marks and James McCormick denied the charges under the Computer Misuse Act and the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act at Leicester Crown Court.

According to the Serious Organized Crime Agency, they were remanded on bail and were due to stand trial in January next year.

Sony Music did not have an immediate comment to make on the allegations, and the IFPI record industry lobby group declined to comment on an ongoing investigation.

Sources could not confirm British media reports that tens of thousands of files, most of them by Jackson, were allegedly downloaded illegally, although files can vary from entire tracks to small snippets of music.

The allegations come less than a year after Sony faced widespread criticism over its systems security when hackers accessed personal information on 77 million PlayStation Network and Qriocity accounts.

The company later revealed hackers had stolen data from 25 million accounts of a separate system, its Sony Online Entertainment PC games network.

I was watching this video on YouTube about?Buddha? and Ashoka,?and was?intrigued?by the summary of ascetic Buddhism. ?The?Buddha?taught that the path to enlightenment was?achieved?through the elimination of Desire. ?This Eightfold Path can be?summarized as:

The Noble Eightfold Path describes the way to the end of suffering, as it was laid out by Siddhartha Gautama. It is a practical guideline to ethical and mental development with the goal of freeing the individual from attachments and delusions; and it finally leads to understanding the truth about all things. Together with the?Four Noble Truths?it constitutes the gist of Buddhism. Great emphasis is put on the practical aspect, because it is only through practice that one can attain a higher level of existence and finally reach Nirvana. The eight aspects of the path are not to be understood as a sequence of single steps, instead they are highly interdependent principles that have to be seen in relationship with each other.

1.?Right View:?to see and to understand things as they really are and to realise the Four Noble Truth	Wisdom
2.?Right Intention:?commitment?to ethical and mental self-improvement.
3.?Right Speech:?mental purification can only be achieved through the cultivation of ethical conduct.	Ethical Conduct
4.?Right Action: unwholesome actions lead to unsound states of mind, while wholesome actions lead to sound states of mind.
5.?Right Livelihood:?one should earn one?s living in a righteous way and that wealth should be gained legally and peacefully.
6.?Right Effort:??mental energy is the force behind right effort; it can occur in either wholesome or unwholesome states.	Mental Development
7.?Right Mindfulness:??the controlled and perfected faculty of cognition.
8.?Right Concentration:?a state where all mental faculties are unified and directed onto one particular object.

As I read through this list of eight disciples, I was struck by the fact that so much of what passes for Christian Theology from the pulpit and in popular books is just Buddhism with a Jesus veneer.

• ?Commit to our Church?s Vision and follow our Mission and you will be a disciple of Jesus.?

I think there is something missing in much of what is popular in books and sermons. ?Look at your pastor?s sermon from this week. ?Reread your favorite book by that author you love to much. Ask yourself?

• What makes your worldview uniquely Christian?
• Can you replace the name ?Jesus? with the name ?Buddha? and get the same message?
• Does your theology point people exclusively to ?The Way? or to ?The Eightfold Path of Enlightenment??

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) ? Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer each won in straight sets Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Djokovic beat Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine 7-6 (5), 6-3, while Federer defeated Feliciano Lopez of Spain 7-5, 6-3.

Andy Murray of Britain also reached the final eight with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Marco Chiudinelli of Switzerland, as did Russia's Mikhail Youzhny, who beat American Mardy Fish 6-2, 7-6 (0).

The top-ranked Djokovic, seeking his fourth consecutive title in Dubai, wasn't at his best for a second straight match after struggling against Cedrik-Marcel Stebe in the opening round. The Serb hadn't played in a tournament since winning the Australian Open.

Stakhovsky was 4-3 up in the first-set tiebreaker, but two costly unforced errors let Djokovic off the hook, and he took the set when the Ukrainian hit a forehand long.

Djokovic was down 3-1 in the second but won five straight games to set up an all-Serbian match against Janko Tipsarevic, who beat Flavio Cipolla of Italy 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-1.

"The difference between the top players and maybe the lower-ranked players is actually those moments," Djokovic said of his comeback. "And managing to keep your composure and cope with the pressure and just focus, have an extra focus, mental strength."

Federer broke Lopez in the final game to end a tight opening set. The second set was more routine, with the Swiss breaking the Spaniard for a 5-3 lead before closing the match with a volley from the net.

Federer, who was beaten in the Dubai final last year by Djokovic, is going for his fifth title and second in 2012 after winning in Rotterdam.

"It was tough getting used to his serve early on. I wasn't having many looks ? he was serving aces left and right," said Federer, who won 92 percent of his points on first serve.

In a reprise of the 2007 final, Federer will next face Youzhny, whom he has never lost to in 11 meetings.

Fish's loss was another setback to what has already been a disappointing start to 2012.

After replacing Andy Roddick as the top-ranked American last year, Fish has struggled. He lost in the second round of the Australian Open and was beaten by 388th-ranked Albano Olivetti in the Marseille quarterfinals last week. He did, however, help the United States rout Switzerland 5-0 in the Davis Cup.

"It's no disgrace to lose to someone like him, but it's frustrating to lose," Fish said. "I had a rough trip, last couple of matches did sting a little bit going into Indian Wells and Miami."

Murray broke Chiudinelli early in the first set and moved him around the court with ease. The second set was closer as both players held serve for the first eight games. But Murray broke to lead 5-4, winning the match on a powerful serve Chiudinelli couldn't return.

Murray will play fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych, who beat Lukas Lacko of Slovakia 6-1, 6-2.

In the late match, fourth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4. He will play eighth-seeded Juan Martin del Potro, who beat Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-2.
